I have been doing video interviews with a number of CIOs, software executives and practitioners about acrobatics they have been seeing in various vertical sectors during the COVID-19 crisis and the "New normal" they can expect as the economy wakes up. Here is the index to the growing list of interviews.
This time it is Max Mueller, CEO and Christian Nilson, COO of Daimani, a unique marketplace for VIP experiences in sports, rock concerts and other events. They have a worldwide audience, much of it corporate, and deliver packages which bundle tickets, travel and hospitality for premium events. While it is a niche offering, their reach is remarkably global.
We discuss the impact the cancellation and postponement of so many events and travel restrictions has had on their business. They have worked extremely professionally to help clients get refunds or exchanges and sound very positive given the major shock to the events business. As they point out the demand side is still eager, the supply side needs to work through its re-opening and hygiene protocols. Short term, they think local events will be more popular till the world again becomes comfortable with international travel. They also think outdoors events with safe distancing in the stands and suites will bounce back quicker.
They also discuss the SAP cloud software role and its global capabilities in supporting their marketplace.
Most of us enjoy sports, rock concerts, other live performances. Humans are social beings and such events bring us together. So, their role packaging premium packages for easy availability is a vital, may be even at a stretch an essential service. I am going to cheer for their robust recovery.
