As we have moved to virtual briefings, I have increasingly been excerpting short video segments (with permission ) as part of my Analyst Cam series.
This time it is Soma Somasundaram, Chief Technology Officer and President of Products at Infor.
He does a nice job providing a 20 minute overview on their architectural evolution and how their 3 major ERP families – LN (Baan heritage) allows them to focus on industries with discrete manufacturing and complex projects like automotive and aerospace & defense, M3 (Intentia heritage) on process manufacturing and attribute-based industries like food and beverage and fashion, and the financial and HR products (Lawson heritage) on service industries like healthcare and public sector.
I have invited him to return and present a drill down in an industry across each of the families and focus on applications which have become much more relevant in the last few years like telemedicine and EMR in healthcare and direct to consumer in fashion.
This is a crisply done overview by Soma, who I did not realize was employee #1 at Infor. He is also one of the nicest execs in the enterprise software industry.
