A Midsummer Night’s Musing: Clouds, Renewables and Digital
In November, I ran a 3 part series titled “Raising the Bar” around cloud computing, renewables and digital transformations.
Over the next few days I will provide an update on each. Each post should benefit from the vendor event season which seemed unusually busy this year, from the consulting I have been doing, from the on-going research and interviews for the next volume of SAP Nation, and from analysis of global events and twists and turns at major companies.
Each of the markets is at a pivot. It shows in changing fortunes of companies like GE and Oracle. With renewables, we are seeing the results of a long experiment in Germany and the beginning of a new one in China. With digital, we are starting to see some tech vendors open up about the impact transformations at their customers/clients are having on their operations and business models.
In the meantime, hope each of us is enjoying the summer. Hope you have found your version of Shakespeare’s contentment
“I know a bank where the wild thyme blows, Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows, Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine, With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine.”
