The French President tweeted yesterday "Tonight the United States has turned its back on the world, but France will not turn its back on Americans," He is talking about President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris climate accord.
Turned its back on the world?
I went back and looked at various posts on New Florence and in my books and feel very good about what Americans have been doing to pursue alternate fuels and sustainability programs. Here are just a handful I list below
Texas is leading the world with its wind farms. We have some of the biggest solar farms in the world. We are experimenting with fusion, wave, desalination, biofuel and other technology. Our car makers like Tesla have led the world in electric vehicle innovation. Google has been helping climate change initiatives around the world. Hotels like the Aria have LEED certification and xeriscaping. Our communities are trying out agrihoods and urban homesteads and reducing emissions from farms. My books have written about Kleiner’s cleantech portfolio, Boeing’s efficiencies in design of the 787, Facebook’s superefficient Prineville data center, GE’s wind turbines, aircraft engine and locomotive efficiencies and many more US led initiatives.
I could go on and on.
Politicians will do what they do. Haters will continue to hate. We could easily revert to our plentiful shale and coal. But the average US citizen, company and community is doing plenty to make the planet green and sustainable.
