The WSJ picks up on a Forrester analysis from a few weeks ago.
It suggests Oracle apps customers are staying put on EBS, PeopleSoft etc because they are not impressed with Fusion Apps.
Here's the reality. Several hundred Oracle customers have already adopted Fusion. Others have moved from PeopleSoft to Workday. Still others have moved from Siebel to Salesforce.com. Others have moved maintenance to Rimini. Oracle customers have all kinds of choice.
The majority are staying put because frankly most CIOs report much higher priority than laterally moving back end transaction systems. They have smart product, predictive analytics, next-gen factory, revenue centric projects which are far more strategic. And most of them appreciate Oracle's Unlimited Apps Program, even when they bitch about the maintenance cost.
If I was an Oracle customer I would be gushing at all the choices I have. And when I moved, it would be in the context of a larger business transformation or significant cost savings, not just to become cloud compliant.
