I went to my neurologist this week and he compared his notes from my first visit in October to updated tests he performed and his eyes gleamed over and over. Good progress. Come back and see me end of January. I went to my speech therapist (more cognitive thinking than speech – she gave me complex text and math problems every time I went to her) and she said I had moved up from 66th percentile to 97th in her standardized tests in the same time frame. I got a similar thumbs up from my wife (who is my primary care giver – and what a wonderful one she has been) as I drove to the bank and couple of other places on my own. And from my beagle, Peanuts as I took him for a walk in our neighborhood without my walking cane.
In the meantime, I hear from several readers wondering why the blog is not more active. Why I was not at Defrag, SAP TechEd and other events I was scheduled to present at.
Here is the reality – while I am making very good progress, my energy level is still low, and there is plenty more therapy (for residual pain, biofeedback etc) scheduled over next few weeks. I have canceled most travel through end of year – other than to Dreamforce in San Francisco next week. And there I am being careful not to over commit to too many appointments (so forgive me if I have not accepted yours).
So, please be patient with me and the blog (though does it seem like there has not been much substantive news in the tech industry and we have been focused on “Leo sightings”?) And in the meantime, look forward to your continued good wishes.
