On October 7 while presenting in Vail, CO, I thought I had an attack of altitude sickness (not unusual me coming from sea level in Florida). The medics disagreed and had me checked into the Swedish Medical Center in Denver for 2 weeks. Last week was my first one home, and I tried to make it as productive as I could.
Technology has helped.
a) Telepresence
I have been working with a European client which has been meeting via telepresesnce. Every morning I participate with this team from my home office. Impressive how productive this is.
b) Oxygen Therapy
Every afternoon I have been undergoing HBOT - HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY.The entire body is immersed in 100-percent oxygen. While the concept is experimental, this page describes some of the potential benefits in reversing some of the stroke’s damage. An hour in the chamber can drive you claustrophobic but you get to watch any DVD you want or sleep – my preferred solution.
c) Night time TV
I usually watch little TV, but this was an unusually varied week – Baseball World series, elections, – lots to keep the mind alert (or pickled)
d) Goodwill
I have received best wishes in every technology possible – text, voice mail, live, email, twitter, even snail mail via flower delivery. Overwhelming. Thanks, all!!
