I was talking to Marilyn Pratt of SAP last night about women in technology – she is quoted on that topic in my upcoming book (excerpt here I posted on Ada Lovelace Day which celebrates women technology bloggers). She was fretting that recent stats show even less young ladies are pursuing science and tech careers.
And today a customer of Oracle pointed out Safra Catz’s recent speech at the Professional BusinessWomen of California conference. Whatever you may think of Oracle or Safra, we should compliment her if she can be a role model for more young ladies to reverse the trend Marilyn points out.
