Wow, look at the logistics of the annual party Larry throws:

• Nearly 43,000 attendees
• 15,000 hotel rooms on peak night – many spilled way into East Bay
• More than 1,800 sessions
• 450 partner exhibits in 300,000 square feet at Moscone
• 10,000 man-hours of union worker set up time at Moscone before the first session.
• Approximately 3,900 travel agency staff hours
• 197 miles of cable (parts of Moscone still not wireless)
• 1,750 LCD Displays  (announce speakers, schedules, etc.)
• 129,000 sq ft of tenting over Howard Street
• 77 buses between hotels, stations etc
• 220 buses to and from hotels for Aerosmith night at Treasure Island
• 9 Generators at that venue capable of producing up to 4,700,000 watts of power 

And before you yell “carbon footprint”, at least some improvements from previous years

• Shuttle requirements down by 32 buses – translates into 4100 fewer miles travelled
• 86% of hotels reporting sustainable practices, improving from 80% in 2008
• 42% of hotels are on walking routes.
• 35,000 gallons of filtered tap water served to attendees in compostable cups or reusable water bottles saving 500,000 disposable plastic bottles.
• 75%: Reduction in on-site paper used at Oracle OpenWorld since 2006
• 65%: Minimum percentage of local food used. About 20% of food served organic.
