Last week Bob Evans at InformationWeek, a fixture in the industry, declared “SaaS is not a fad anymore”
This week, Bruce Richardson of AMR another fixture in the industry makes a compelling case for SaaS.
Time for SaaS to take a breather and pat itself on the back. But only a short break, because impatient folks like me are already looking for the next wave of optimization.
Cloud/SaaS vendors need to quit comparing themselves to on-premise laggards and start benchmarking themselves against each's other efficiencies on platform costs, upgrades, green data centers - so the focus becomes TCO = Total Cloud Ownership as I wrote here.
