“About three million homes in the UK have broadband speeds of less than two megabits per second (2Mbps) according to research commissioned by the BBC.
The research revealed that so-called notspots are not limited to rural communities, with many in suburban areas and even streets in major towns.”
That’s 2MBPS down, so likely only 400 KBPS up.
How did a country doing well in the last couple of decades neglect its broadband priorities? Not that we in US have a right to criticize. As the Speedtest site shows (scroll to bottom of page) we rank 24th and 28th in world download/upload speeds
What is even worse - BT, Verizon, AT&T - do not seem to realize the long-term impact it is causing to their brand as they increasingly compete for Global WAN and other telco infrastructure deals.
I mean if you cannot showcase your own house, why should others allow you to maintain theirs?
