When you present and people save a question for cocktail hour, you know it made an impact :)
At the Cognizant event couple of weeks ago a few folks asked me to elaborate on what I said during my pitch
"We gave procurement folks the fancy title of Strategic Sourcing, and then told them to forget about IT Sourcing from every corner of the world and instead just consolidate vendor bases"
I gave them a polite answer, but I was thinking:
If that same consolidation principle applied, the Westminster Kennel Club would just rotate its winner each year between a Fox Terrier and a Scottish Terrier. Those breeds have won more than others in the last century. An aging Sussex Spaniel which won this year, and even a more pedestrian beagle which won last year would have had a snowball's chance in hell.
And Malia's allergies be darned, the First Dog would never have been a Portuguese Water Dog.
And it would have insisted on being named StrategicSourcing, when it should be called Stimulus:)
