Last year I made a suggestion: With every social network invitation (LinkedIn, Facebook etc), the invitor should send the invitee a Starbucks gift card. After all in the real world, when you invite someone, you serve them a cup of coffee.
Over the holidays, my friends at ContinuServe sent me season's greetings and a Starbucks card. Even better it did not involve signing on to accept an invite from someone I will never hear from again:)
Thanks Nate, Pradeep.
Update: I may never have to pay for coffee again! Dave Vanheukelom sent me a LinkedIn invite and asked where to send a Starbucks card :)
BTW - I recently tried McDonald's Capuccino for about a $ 1 less than Starbucks. As this site says "For coffee
experts, the lack of crema and whole milk offends. For the rest of us,
McDonald's new espresso-based drinks offers a way to get a treat on the
run."

Finally, someone reads my blog!
