I quote Om Malik and his team at GigaOm quite a bit on this blog...which to me is the best way to compliment someone you respect. So, it was invigorating to spend a little time with him this afternoon. As usual - in keeping with the theme of this blog - my interest was where he saw disruption and innovation in telecoms. His post here summarizes what he believes.
More impressively, while George Gilbert (who met me at the cafe) and I had lattes, Om munched on some nuts. He has cut out stress, smokes, alcohol, and most tasty food - and looks great 60 pounds lighter since his surgery at the beginning of the year.
As he gets ready to participate in the TechCrunch 50 conference this week (where he is on the panel of experts), the industry should be grateful he has "disrupted" his old lifestyle...a role model for what so many of our technology and telecom vendors should be doing..
