Carl Icahn would like Yahoo's directors to share their time sheets
I think he should also ask for all expense sheets and receipts. All the recent M&A related board meetings have probably spiked their chargeable expenses
Make them answer these questions:
· Did you stay at either Motel 6, about 1.7 miles from Yahoo! HQ? (yes, they have 2 properties within a few feet of each other. If one is oversold, highly unlikely the other is also)
· Did you use the IRS 2008 mileage guideline of 50.5 c? (yes, we know price of gas has shot up in last quarter, but complain to the IRS, not us if that does not seem generous)
· Did you fly on a 14 day advance, Saturday night, coach ticket?
· Did you use Skype for your teleconference calls? (ok, we prefer Skype, but I guess if you used Yahoo! Voice, that would also be acceptable)
· Did you take advantage of the Subway $ 5 special? (That's for Foot long - means at least two can share the sandwich)
· If alcohol was served, did you expense only the drinks which would have kept you under the California 0.08 alcohol limit? (This site can help you calculate based on your sex, weight etc the number of drinks we reimburse to stay under that limit)
Every NO reply above should be supplemented with a detailed answer.
And Carl, I suspect you may need to repeat the statement in your latest letter
"Why don't you do me the courtesy of answering my questions as I have answered yours?" :)
