This is happening with annoying frequency - the focus of media and blogs on making bloggers the story. NY Times writes the stress of blogging kills. I am glad Larry Dignan points out stress is not unique to bloggers.
In my personal career of part consultant /part blogger I can assure
you the joys of TSA, plane delays, being away from family, inability to
get into a routine when you are the road are more stressful. Yes, you can get addicted to all the tools and streams blogworld keeps
unleashing and make it a 24 hour a day obsession.
But there are more stressful careers. Far more so. Everyone in the grueling Presidential campaign - not just the candidates. Our brave kids in Iraq and
Afghanistan. The consultant who leaves home every Sunday has it far worse. The Indian COO who travels every month to the US. Try putting on a happy face when your body is screaming for relief from jet lag. The Chinese entrepreneur in Africa. Heck, our cops, firefighters, even teachers these days have stressful lives.
So, instead of continuing to draw attention to ourselves, can we please focus on topics our readers care more about?
