On Transparency

Ok, so these days it is politically correct to be transparent. So HP discloses its major suppliers in this list.

But help me understand why just showing off this list raises "social and environmental standards in the electronics industry supply chain"?

Can we get some details on carbon footprints, green initiatives at these suppliers, what creative environmental ideas they brought to HP etc?  HP's website has  some case studies on how it  has worked with some of its international suppliers on environmental issues, but no linkage far as I can tell to the list it just disclosed.
