Let's adopt the same attitude in the US. Let's make sure every non-US company has employment here proportionate to their US sourced revenues. We could call it the 1-H program. I mean forget the emergency fiscal package President Bush is putting together. The 1-H program would create 5+ million good jobs with the likes of SAP, Airbus, British Airways, Infosys, BMW, Toshiba, Samsung, Huawei, Aramco and more.
Of course, our consumers would pay through the nose. And as usual they would grumble, but take it in stride. At least we would make sure we don't end up with dreaded stagflation from the 70s. And Lou Dobbs would have little to complain on at CNN and could permanently join Stephen Colbert on Comedy Central.
I am liking the idea more and more.
