You hear numerous complaints about TSA security at airports. Long lines, not knowing their own rules (limit of 3 oz in fluids when its rules say 3.4) , inconsistency across airports (take shoes off in some airports, not in others), but you grumble and accept them.
What is a bit disconcerting is this USA Today report that says 15,000 people have petitioned to get their names of its "terrorist watch list". This includes a 6 year old. whose parents have been trying for 2 years to get him off the list. Many of these poor souls would gladly put up with the TSA lines - they are often not allowed to even get to that step.
And many more probably do not even know they are on the list or how to petition to get off it.
6 years and billions of dollars later (I reckon I pay at least $ 500 a year in TSA fees) the really scary fact is we likely do not know how many Type II errors continue to board our airlines.
