Sadagopan and Jeff Nolan express outrage at the H1-B fiasco. I have written before our immigration is broken. To me talent more than love or lottery should be top of our immigration - short term and long term - agenda. Not just white collar but also blue collar.
Having said that, I do wonder why we don't see similar headlines about Japan, France, Germany, India, China. I would love to see countries around the world open up their labor markets. I find it depressing when I hear Irish (my wife is Irish) folks now complain about Polish and other EU labor in their backyard when the Irish themselves were net exporters of labor for a long time.
Labor markets should be allowed to be as fluid as capital markets. We will work on our politicians and our bigots. But it would be sure easy if other major countries were similarly open. Generation G needs the mobility.
