I complimented Jim Holincheck of Gartner here for starting a blog. Last week he asked readers what transparency they would like to see. I commented it was great he was sharing data on the types of client queries he was getting. Clients call Gartner as they begin their vendor evaluations and that summary is a a nice window on the HR market segment he is following.
May be I should not have made that comment. His bosses have told him this "It is really useful information. So useful, in fact, that Gartner does not want me to give it away for free."
Of course, his research itself is not bloggable - cannot be free. His links take you to the Gartner store.
So what exactly can the poor fellow blog about? Life? And foosball?(do not ever play that with him unless you have a real small ego!).
Jim says "Instead of the weekly "What Are Clients Asking About" posting, I am going to start to do a synthesis post called "Observations from the Blogosphere".
Time for us bloggers to put up our own firewalls and charge Gartner for the privilege of linking to our stuff...
