I have transited through Paris Charles de Gaulle twice this week. First time I flew from UK on Air France and connected to Delta. Had to take a bus which gave us a tour of 5 terminals, then dropped us to another bus which took us to a satellite terminal, then we had to walk on the tarmac to the Delta plane.
On the way back flew in on Delta, flew out on Delta. Ended up, we flew out on same equipment. Yet we were bused to a satellite terminal 25 feet away, made to go through security again, then walk back on tarmac onto plane.
Tell me the steps in the process - the busing, the walking on tarmac - make the process safer. Tell me between all the ground agents, bus drivers, security staff this is cost efficient. The excuse I keep hearing is the roof collapse at a new terminal in May 2004 is the reason for this satellite terminal. You can understand a few months, but 2 years?
Only good news - I can access WI-FI at this terminal at 10 euro (about USD 12.50) an hour. Yup, the cost of the steps above make everything a little dearer. Angioplasty candidate.
