I recently had a chance to spend some time with Venetia Kontogouris of Trident Capital. She made a revealing comment " I want to fund companies which are global in their DNA right from the beginning". While so many other VCs like to stay close to home, she takes time to travel far and wide. Could be because she is an immigrant from Greece. Could be because she has seen how the Cognizant global delivery model (she has been a director for several years now ) can work. It was refreshing to listen to her broader outlook.
