One good thing about this long and expensive election cycle is many folks are back to the adage of “Don’t talk politics in polite company”
The pilot of this flight politely announced he would not be broadcasting any results and took the opportunity to plug the plane’s Wi-Fi connection
At Cognizant Community couple of weeks ago, they delayed dinner by a bit to allow attendees to watch the last debate in their hotel rooms, rather than in a public forum
At Workday Rising this morning, it was announced George Tenet, former CIA Director would be presenting tomorrow (for security reasons, the published agenda did not mention the session). I saw him in the audience, introduced myself and apologized I would miss his talk. He was gracious, and when I remarked he looked refreshed (he is now Chairman of Allen & Co, an investment firm), he smiled and replied “ oh yes, there is life after politics”
Yes, there is and in the morning, one half or the other of this country will wake up disappointed, even angry. Just bear in mind, there is a nice life waiting for the losing candidate. And let’s agree it’s politically correct to not publicly gloat or cry about our candidates.
