Enterprise Predictions for 2008

a) we will cut billions of payroll checks in 2008
b) we will pay millions of vendors each week
c) we will generate trillions worth of customer invoices
d) we will trade millions of shares each day
e) we will hire, fire, transfer millions of employees each month
f) we will ship billions of parcels of merchandise each day
g) we will generate millions of air tickets each week
h) we will check in, checkout, monitor millions of healthcare patients each week
i) we will monitor and manage networks and other IT infrastructure at high levels of availability and security

And web 2.0, social networks, Green tech, iPhones and other gadgets which have been the subject of 99% of all 2008 predictions I have read to date will have close to zero to do with any of above.

So every one who develops, supports, uses, sells, buys enterprise technology - here's to you.

Thanks for being boring and predictable. I don't need to qualify above predictions with any wimpy probabilities....
